Day 1- Happiness Challenge

Day one… Start a Journal

Today I started a Journal to track my 30 day Happiness Challenge. I am excited about this challenge. I know your wondering why start a Happiness Challenge if your already happy. Its also about self discovery learning more about what I am capable of.


P90X PHASE 2

hahaha I made it!!! I am on my fifth week of P90x.  I have changed from the Lean Program to Doubles program.  With the doubles program I feel more challenged and I love it.  I am at the point that I look forward to waking up at 5am and working out. I feel so accomplished! I work near the the Pasadena Rose Bowl the track at the Rose Bowl is 3.1 miles around. Today I am going to start jogging two laps around the track (thats 6.2 miles).  The most exciting part of P90x phase 2 is that I finally bought a heart monitor watch.  So now I can keep track of my heart rate and the amount of calories that I am burning. I am so in love with P90x and the results are so amazing. My body is leaner and my arm muscles are more defined! Well if you haven’t tried P90X I suggest that you do! Its totally worth it!


Week One Complete

I started P90x this week and its been hard yet rewarding.  My body is completely soar but I love it. I decided to do the P90x Lean program. The lean program is more cardio than weight lifting based.  Its just as hard as the P90x Classic version.  Right now I am deciding to keep doing the program in the evening after a hard days work or in the morning when I am fully alert and full of energy.  For week two i am gonna try waking up at 5:30am to workout before work and see how it goes.  My goal for P90x is to loose a 12-15lbs.  My starting weight is 147lbs so I really hope I meet my goal.  I am tracking my calorie intake and exercise.  I am on a 1356 calories a day budget.This is the first week of me changing my eating habits.  Its been difficult not to eat certain fast foods and my other other guilty pleasure is eating oreos and pringles! What I have learned in a diet is that you can have your guilty pleasures but in moderation! My focus has been eating healthy filling foods.  The cravings for the “bad” foods will leave my system (eventually).  But I am happy to be on this adventure! I have 6 days down only 84 more to go! To prepare for week 2 I am buying some new Tupperware and cooking my meals for the next week! Wish me luck!


P90X

 I decided to get in shape after looked at pictures of me from 4 years ago.  Four years ago I was about 15lbs lighter and I had great abs.  After weeks on pondering if I should get in shape I decided that I am going to do something about it.  I decided that I am going to challenge myself and do P90x.  For those of you who don’t know P90x is its an intense 90 day workout program. I will have to workout 6 days a week for approximately 13 weeks.   P90x is a three phrase program, the phases last about 4 weeks each and boost the intensity.  There are 3 different workout plans I can choose from in my P90x.  I am going to do the P90x Doubles.  I choose P90x doubles because in the 2nd and 3rd phases it incorporates cardio to help booth performance and weight loss. I am excited and nervous about doing P90x.  I know my body will be in pain but it will be worth it.  I will start my P90x program on February 7th.  I chose that day because its after my vacation and their wont be any major holidays coming up. I will be tracking my progress in this blog so keep a look out and help motivated.

Annoying

There is someone that I wrote off as an annoyance. We couldn’t see eye to eye and I admit I started to look down on this person. I treated this person with disrespect and did not worry about how this person might have felt about it. It dawned on me that maybe I am growing the wrong way about this. Maybe it’s me that’s the problem not this individual. When I have wronged someone they have given me second chances so why am I not doing it with this person? One person that I said offensive things too has forgiven me and I consider this individual good friend. This individual took the chance to forgive me for my ignorant rants and now we have friendly conversations all the time. I have decided that instead of writing this person off as annoyance I will take the time to get to know them. I hope that everyone who has the person who annoys try to get to know them because they might become a really good friend! Wish me luck!




New Orleans State of Mind

I love being French Creole! I always get asked what is Creole? Creole is a mixture of French and African.  I love my history and culture and wear it proudly! New Orleans is one the many places that my history begins.  I believe that no matter what your culture is you should embrace it and learn as much as you can about it.  I am excitied about my trip to New Orleans at the beggining of February. I can smell the crawfish, catfish, gumbo and jumbolaya.  When I clost my eyes I can see the French artciturce, the jazz players on the street, and the old plantation style homes.  I cant wait to walk around the French Quarter and French Markets.  I cant wait to eat at the Cafe De Monde and eat my favorite French treat the beignets!  If you ever visit Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California go to the Jazz Kitchen they sell beignets from Cafe De Monde there and it worth the wait.Well I hope this first blog was interesting enough. I encourage you to go and learn about Creole people and learn about yourself!
